We currently work with the Ormylia Foundation in support of two children’s programs.
Ormilia Foundation’s Vulnerable Children’s Program
The Panagia Philanthropini Foundation has served as a place of healing and hope for over three decades. The Center was founded by the Blessed Elder Aimiianos, the Abbot of the Monastery of Simonos Petras on Mount Athos and Founder of the Sacred Convent of Ormylia to show love to all, especially to those who have no one to love them.
The Vulnerable Children's Program at the Center of Panagia Philanthropini provides comprehensive care to children in need, including medical assistance, psychological support, and creative activities. The program also reaches out to young inmates in juvenile prisons, offering them similar support and the message of Christ's love and forgiveness.
Ormilia Foundation’s Youth in Prison Ministry
The Panagia Philanthropini Foundation has extended its ministry to one of the most vulnerable groups of all: youth in prison. The Center has entered into a collaboration with a juvenile prison that holds 320 Children and teenagers between the ages of 12 and 18. These Young souls are often abandoned, carrying wounds of neglect, trauma, and despair. When they are released, most have nowhere to turn, no family or Community to embrace them. Left alone, they are drawn back into the same vicious cycle, and heartbreakingly, the majority find themselves behind bars again within only two years.
